Concrete Collar Joint – Cement Mortar
Pipes with plain butt ends are aligned, and an external concrete collar surrounds the connection. Cement mortar fills the joint to complete the assembly.

This rigid joint is intended for suitable culvert and cross-drain applications where permitted by the applicable specification, not as an interchangeable option for every sewer or pressure pipeline.

Rubber Ring Joint – RRJ
A spigot end fits into a socket, compressing a rubber gasket to form a watertight connection when correctly assembled and tested. Rubber-ring joints can accommodate limited movement while helping control groundwater infiltration and leakage from the pipeline.
